As a two place tail wheel trainer the citabria is reliable and fun to fly. The fact that you sit in the middle of the airplane contributes to a unique experience for those of us that are used to the sidelines. If you spell the name backwards, you get airbatic, which it certainly is ... for almost everything except whip stalls and tail slides.

I did all of my tailwheel training in a Citabria and I loved it. It was the first time I had sit in the center of the airplane, for one thing. It really helps you feel as though you are a rider on the machine, it's very intuitive. It was forgiving in the sense that the moment you add power you are off the ground. Not so in an C152 aerobat, for example.
